Veteran Nollywood actor, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya or Papa Labista, is said to be critically sick.
His fellow actor, Ernest Obi, reportedly revealed on Instagram that Njubuigbo was suffering from liver disease and launched a campaign to raise funds for the ailing actor.
Obi said Njubuigbo needed One million naira for his medical treatment and called on Nigerians to assist the actor, who he said had dedicated over 20 years of his life to film-making.
“He is fighting for his life. His liver. He needs you. Needs me. Needs us,” he said.
One unverified social media account posted a picture which appeared to corroborate Obi’s claims.
Some Nigerians have expressed words of support for the actor.
